Design Smarter, Ship Faster: Why We Use Framer

The Opportunity

At Scylla Group, we saw an increasing need for streamlined, modern websites that didn’t come with a heavyweight process. Smaller organizations, from lean startups to community non-profits, needed sites that were fast to launch, design-forward, and easy to maintain. They didn’t need complexity. They needed clarity.

We wanted to meet that need with the same quality and intention we bring to larger builds, just on a different scale.

The Exploration

Before finding Framer, we tried everything.

We explored several headless setups. Technically impressive but overbuilt for the use case. We experimented with a few other low-code platforms. They allowed for rapid development but weren't flexible enough for our design-driven workflow. We also looked at some popular all-in-one website builders. These felt too boxed in, trying to be everything at once while lacking the creative control and performance we needed.

Every option seemed to fall into one of two extremes. Either too simple and rigid, or too complex and bloated.

We knew there had to be a better balance.

Our Approach

Framer hit the mark. It allowed us to move from Figma to a live site quickly and seamlessly, without sacrificing design integrity or responsiveness. Sites are published statically, which means speed, security, and reliability are all baked in. And the editor experience is intuitive enough for non-technical clients to take control without constant support.

It gave us the right blend of power and simplicity, perfect for smaller-scale projects that still deserve thoughtful execution.

The Outcome

By adopting Framer, we’ve been able to:

  • Deliver faster, launching fully branded websites in weeks, not months
  • Work smarter, eliminating the need for backend infrastructure, third-party add-ons, or longer development workflows
  • Keep things custom, maintaining the level of design quality and attention to detail our clients expect
  • Empower clients, giving them an easy way to update content and manage their site

Looking Ahead

Framer has redefined how we build smaller websites. It’s helped us scale our services without diluting quality, and it’s enabled us to say yes to more of the projects we care about.

It doesn’t just support our process. It empowers it.
